UK European Health Insurance Cards (EHIC) have now been replaced with UK Global Health Insurance Cards (GHIC).
A UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) gives you the right to access state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in the European Union (EU).
Once your EHIC has expired, you’ll be able to replace it with a GHIC for free. You can apply for a GHIC through the NHS website.
